Sunflower County reports third death related to COVID-19

Sunflower County’s number of positive COVID-19 patients has not risen sharply in the past couple of weeks, but the county did record its third death from the virus.

The Mississippi State Department of Health showed the number of official positive tests stands at 57 as of Monday, with three confirmed deaths related to the virus.

U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith said in a release today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture plans to purchase $30 million in surplus food for distribution to food banks and community support programs.
