He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a very young age, and he truly exemplified in his daily life the fruits the Spirit bestowed upon him of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. All who knew Gerry felt these qualities within him. Growing up on a farm in Marked Tree, Arkansas, with his sister Janice, Gerry developed a love for animals and the great outdoors.

Charlie Harlow passed away on November 17, 2025, at his home in Clarksdale. Charlie was born on November 6, 1934, and lived in Clarksdale all of his life. He graduated from Ole Miss in 1956 and farmed with his uncles in Claremont for the early part of his working life. He later began a career in real estate, insurance, and appraisals, working first for W. L. Holcomb and then establishing Charles Harlow & Associates at 134 Sunflower Avenue, where he spent many years in the company of his friends, coworkers and office mates in a workplace that was always full of love and laughter.
