The City of Indianola’s Board of Aldermen approved this week the purchase of six new Dodge Chargers for the police department.
The total bill is $257,910, and the vehicles will be purchased from Kirk Automotive, according to the motion.
This follows the purchase of several Dodge Durango SUVs earlier this year, which are already patrolling the streets in Indianola.
The board noted that the funding for these new vehicles comes from a legislative line item that was announced by District 31 Rep. Otis Anthony in 2022.
The city will not have to match any of the funds.
