On Monday, the Sunflower County Board of Supervisors voted to accept the recommendation of Sunflower County Circuit Clerk Carolyn Hamilton and appointed Porchia Anthony, wife of District 31 Representative Otis Anthony II, to fill out the unexpired term for Sunflower County District 2 Election Commissioner Eloise Harris.

In conjoined motions, the Sunflower County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the town of Inverness and contingent upon that signing, they voted to purchase a new fire truck with donated and borrowed funds for the town’s use.

Christmas parade returning after six-year absence
